One of the things I like to do is see what others are saying about this great state and this incredible greater Birmingham area on the web. It always makes me glad and proud when I see something positive being said about something in our area.
Today I had one of those feelings when reading an article about the Birmingham Botanical Gardens.
Apparantly a gentleman from Virginia came to visit our gardens and put together a list of the Top 5 Botanical Gardens, and we made his list at #3.
To quote the article: “… whereas this botanical gardens represents the city of Birmingham, Alabama. And a worthy garden it is. In fact, I almost ranked it at #2. The grounds are 67.5 acres and contain 25 individual gardens. Highlights include the herb terrace, Southern Living garden, wildflower garden, the conservatory, and free admission. My favorite is the bog garden. Situated in the deep south, this garden has a long growing season and offers a lot of outdoor interest throughout the year. And if you are looking to start your own, check out their wonderful spring and fall plant sales.”
That’s some postive press! If you haven’t been there in a while I urge you to go for a visit. It’s “Alabama’s Largest Living Museum” and you’ll be sure to enjoy!
